Deenavallee Pillay Ramasawmy
Chief Corporate, Legal and Regulatory Affairs Officer
Deenavallee Ramasawmy holds an LLB and an
LLM in International and Commercial Law from the
University of Greenwich and a Postgraduate diploma
in International Commercial Arbitration from the
University of London. She is a barrister-at-law and
member of the Honourable Society of the Middle
Temple and the Mauritius Bar Association.
Prior to joining Mauritius Telecom in 2014, she honed her
skills as a barrister working in diverse sectors including
ICT, commercial law, banking law, employment
law and criminal law. She also provided guidance
and oversight on licensing agreements, contracts,
disputes, litigation risks and maintaining compliance
across Mauritius Telecom and its subsidiaries. She
also assisted management with legal matters related
to the company and regularly represented Mauritius
Telecom in engagements with regulatory bodies and
key external stakeholders.
Deenavallee has been entrusted with the role of
Chief Corporate, Legal and Regulatory Affairs Officer
to manage the Corporate, Legal and Regulatory
Department to implement a comprehensive corporate,
legal & regulatory strategy which would enable the
achievement of the Company’s vision and mission by
delivering the results required by the stakeholders,
thereby creating shareholders’ value. She will advise
the Board of Directors, Group Executive Committee,
and the Company’s stakeholders on any major legal,
corporate and regulatory issues the company confronts,
such as litigation risks.
Since 01st May 2024 Deenavallee has been appointed as
Chief Corporate, Legal and Regulatory Affairs Officer.
